About me!

Hello, Everyone. My name is Nam Nguyen and if you’re reading this blog, quite aware of my interests and forays into creative writing. I’m currently in the process of writing a book, editing it for maybe the fiftieth time and maybe halfway through for a total of fifty thousand words.

Sounds impressive?

Nope.

Every time I burn out and take a break from writing I come back dissatisfied with my work. But before I show excerts of what I’ve written in private, I would like to showcase my creative writing talents online, conduct close reading analysis’s and book reviews for your enjoyment.

Feel free to post your comments and your recommendations

  1. As someone who loathes even the work he’s produced that survived four computers, two laptops and five tablets before landing on Amazon, and tends to despise everything that pours from his keys even today, I can only tell you this: Most of the time, your own writing will never be good enough for you. You will always, in some secret chamber, hate it. Either because of what it is… Or what it isn’t.
Sounds dreadful, but it shouldn’t. Because once you accept that you will always be your own worst critic, it gets a little easier to open yourself to critiques from others, to worry about “fixing” what may actually be broken instead of the ten thousand things you’ve imagined must be wrong with it.
Judging from some of your other posts, you and I have some similar background traits (early interest in the creative fields, a less-than-supportive family, occasional despair over the work and a tendency to hover about it, trying to find new ways to attack it, to fix it, to make it “perfect” and never finding them); I found that just tossing your hands up, saying “I’m going to do the best I can and then put it behind me” is sometimes the only way to get something done.

Best of luck, and best wishes.

    1. Thank you very much Mr. Andrews It’s certainly a hard path we’ve chosen for ourselves but we all start somewhere. Maybe I will hate the words I write, but at the very least it will be a dream I will fulfill. Your words are bitter sweet but they are words on inspiration non-the-less. Thank you very much for finding the time to read my posts, and reply to my comments.

Thank you very much. When I’m published I’ll be sure to send you a copy!
