The Night Sky

I looked up at the sky, and it was like the first time I saw the stars.

That’s how I remembered the feeling. I felt my heart beat in my chest, and the lights twinkled in turn. The moon stared back at me, and I melted a little when it smiled. My engagement ring smiled back, radiant with my joy. It burst into the night, as bright any other light – and I skipped into a life where nothing could ever be dull.

I was getting married at midnight and I couldn’t wait.

My life was ending.

Ours had just begun.

There comes a time in our life, where we stand at the precipice of something great. Sometimes we recoil in fear, other times we smile and accept it.

Everyday alive is worth rejoicing, some more than others.

That’s how I wish to live my life.

  1. I really love the way you write: in your poems to your short stories. What you’re writing is so concise that it is so relatable but the amount of detail you weave through your writing is such an art. I wish I could write like this!
